Mr. Schutt was admitted to practice law in California in 1981 after graduation from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California. Since then, he has practiced exclusively in the areas of plaintiff and defense personal injury, wrongful death and other major exposure tort, insurance and injury cases. He was in active practice in California for the next 12 years. He was first an associate and then the senior litigation attorney from 1983 to 1992 at a plaintiff firm in Beverly Hills.
Mr. Schutt relocated to Southern Nevada in 1993 to avoid the congestion of the Los Angeles area and to live near his family. He and David Amesbury have practiced together since 1993. They founded Amesbury & Schutt in 1994, upon Mr. Schutt's admission to the Nevada Bar. Mr. Schutt's primary responsibilities include the handling of tort, injury, insurance and related matters and the supervision of junior attorneys and other staff in civil cases.
Mr. Schutt is a member of the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association and is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Nevada.
Mr. Schutt was born 1957 in Takoma Park, Maryland (a suburb of Washington, D.C.); resides in the Green Valley area of Henderson, Nevada, and enjoys sports (including tennis, snow skiing and scuba diving), current events, politics, music and the family dogs. |
